I want my paintings to give people moments of pleasure, reflection and memories.

Artist Statement

Every artist approaches their work in a different way. I like to think that my creations are born from a process of creating music that can be seen. I start with an empty and silent stage of white canvas. Then, I gradually introduce and bring to the stage my brushes using them as musical instruments that produce the colors, texture, rhythm and harmony. The process is finished when I hear visual harmony coming from my painting.
With a background in still life and landscape painting, I have discovered that I feel true artistic freedom when creating non-objective abstract painting. Now I enjoy the playful dancing back and forth across the boundary lines between representational forms and abstract. My work today can best be described as contemporary abstract landscape and cityscape. I am inspired by the natural and urban world. The dominant stream of my work is Abstract houses that my customers call "Happy houses".

Bio:

Images are my life. I have been drawing, painting and working with images whole my life. I hold a master degree in Electronic Engineering working whole my career as a specialist for Computer Graphics and Image Processing. In art field I have been tutored by various accomplished artists in Europe and Canada. A new chapter in my life began when I moved to Canada with my wife and two sons in 2002. In recent years, I have extensively worked on abstract landscapes and cityscapes.

Technique:

I create paintings by building up layers of texture and colors. I start with an idea of the way I will go. I am interested in treatment of textural surfaces combined with glazing techniques that brings vibrant colors to my work. During the process of creation the decisions are made that may diverge the way.  At the end there is a great feeling of fulfillment when I find in an image something new that I was not aware of at the beginning.
